Curator & Interior Designer
I was always fascinated by textures, colors and materials. At the age of seventeen, I started out working with furniture design in our family-owned business in São Paulo, Brazil. That is when I discovered my passion for product and especially interior design. And since then this passion has continuously grown.
I went on to study architecture and interior design in São Paulo – Brazil, Milan – Italy and Madrid – Spain, where I graduated from the Institute of Design (IED) Madrid with distinction. Along my career I had the honor to work with some of most renown names in design, like Humberto Campana and Fernando Campana (Campana Brothers), Andrea Ciszak (Ciszak Dalmas), Alexander Von Vegesack (Vitra Design Museum Basel), and others.
Over the years, my work as an interior designer has been featured in leading newspapers and trade magazines such as Vogue, DDN, diarioDESIGN, El Pais, SModa, Nuevo Estilo and has been shown at several exhibitions: ‘Salone del Mobile’ in Milan (2013), ‘Decoracción’ (2012) ’Craft R-Evolution’ (2012), and ‘Hand in Hand’ in Madrid (2013).

Bia Doria find in nature the raw materials and the reason for her work. Her style is characterized by artwork made from sustainable products residuals of reforestation management, and native trees rescued from – among others – burnings, deforestation, river bottoms, dams.
Her creations are developed with much innovation within what her imagination identifies as ideal forms of nature, hence turning themselves into a representation of sustainable contemporary art.
Having the forms of nature as the starting point of her work, Bia recreates and transforms forest residues as if they were polished diamonds, materials difficult to be worked and acquired, as they are rescued from closed forests, river bottoms and hard-to-reach places.
They need special care, from hygiene to preservation, so it is a time-consuming process of elaboration.
